Today's new phrase is "wishful thinking"
This means a hope or a dream that is probably not going to happen.
Example 1
A. One day, I'm going to win the lottery!
B. Yah, right! Wishful thinking!
Example 2
A. Some day, I'm going to visit the moon.
B. That's just wishful thinking. Unless you have a million dollars.
Example 3
I know it's wishful thinking, but I would definitely like to buy a new house.
